Bumper Harvest and One-Pot-Pledge work together to reconnect people with nature

A critical element in the battle to champion green space and its benefits lies in addressing the disconnect that so many people now experience between themselves and nature. How can they see the point of investment and maintenance if they don’t relate to green space on at least some level?

For this reason Colour your Life, close relative of the Green City in the UK has been promoting grow your own through its September ‘Bumper Harvest’ promotion and via a hook-up with Garden Organic’s One-Pot-Pledge.

This is an exciting campaign to get 30 000 people who have never grown and eaten any produce before doing just that. Launched on March 22nd, they have reached over two-thirds of their target already and just look at some of the celebs and stars who’ve backed the campaign: Jerry Hall, Bill Oddie, Boris Johnson and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall are all on-board – with that eclectic mix how can it but succeed?

All pledgers have to do is make their commitment on-line at www.onepotpledge.org - by doing this they agree to grow and eat edible plants from their gardens. If you are an experienced gardener you can volunteer as a ‘guru’ and spread your knowledge to others. If you are a teacher, you can sign up your school.
